Hap-BEE Birthday

Hello and welcome to my blog today. I hope you are enjoying your Easter - only one more day here.
Church today started at 8 a.m. with a breakfast ( I didn't go to that part) Our youngest daughter came here and went with me to church. The choir sang two pieces of music - one of which I had to sing only by sight reading as I've missed a couple of practises. The girl next to me and myself didn't quite get the last little bit right and I'm not sure about the other ladies, LOL. Our conductor told us (the sopranos) just to sing "Ah..."  for the last few bars and I jokingly said that we would get the last two notes if nothing else and that is nearly what we did, we messed up with one bar. My daughter said she knew I had made a mistake because she couldn't see me singing the words. I've just realised that was because we weren't singing any!!!!
After morning tea, she realised she had her boyfriend's wallet in her bag, so we took a ride to take it to him as he was working today. We went to the wrong place and had to backtrack to find him and then we decided to have some lunch together before coming back here for her to pick up her car. What a day!!!
I've been busy making up some DT cards over the weekend and am now a bit ahead on a couple of blogs. That meant I could sit down tonight and make one just for me. I have had this little image sitting waiting to be used so here is what I came up with.

I thought I was going to have a peaceful day, LOL.

A Vintage Christmas

Hello and welcome to my blog. I've noticed a couple of new pics in my followers list, so welcome and I hope you find something here to interest you.
It's Tuesday, which means Adelaide Harmony Choir rehearsal tonight - we finished at 9:45 PM and then by the time we put our chairs away and I drove a friend home and then myself, it was fairly late. I arrived home to find our son and his wife here using our shower again!!! He pulled their bathroom to pieces and is doing a DIY renovation. The plumbing, bath and basin are in and now they have waterproofed and started the tiling. So they have been coming before bedtime to have showers and drive home in their pyjamas, LOL. Luckily they only live 5 minutes down the road.
After they left, about 11 pm I sat down and thought "What am I going to make" I had a little bird image coloured up and started fiddling with that but decided when I started looking at some papers that this gorgeous one didn't need anything else except a sentiment. I haven't done the inside yet as it is now late and I still have a bit of commenting to do so here is what I ended up making.

Recipe:
SU Garden Green cardstock for the base card
White cardstock from stash
DP is from Meg's Garden ~ A Vintage Christmas paper stack (this was a magazine freebie)
Sentiment is from SU - More Merry Messages
Memento Black inkpad

Okay time to go - thanks for stopping by and thanks also to those who took the time to leave me some comments, I always enjoy reading them too!!!.

Sandy

An Easter Bunny

I didn't sleep well last night, I actually went to bed before 10 p.m. and that is unusual for me. I got woken up briefly when hubby came home from night shift at 12 a.m and then again at 1.50 a.m by a huge clap of thunder which was quickly followed by a flash of lightning and another huge clap of thunder straight away, so that one must have been really close!!!! We had some rain but not a lot and then today has been very windy, overcast and we've had rain on and off. Spent some time with my DIL and little grandson looking at suits for him to wear at a wedding and then decided it was working out really expensive for just a one off occasion. She said she saw some on e-bay and was going to go home and check them out a bit more.
I've had another bad headache today which just hasn't wanted to go away so after having a meal out with friends, my Mum and brother, I decided not to go to choir. It wouldn't have improved my head especially singing high notes. I've sung with headaches before and you feel like the top of your head is going to explode, LOL.
Anyway, here I am typing away still with my eyes drooping from the residual headache so I am going to get on and share my card.

MIM#132 - Moral of a fairytale with Bugaboo

Monday has arrived with chilly wind nipping at my bare feet as I take a bit more rubbish out before the garbage truck arrives to haul it away!. I've just caught one of  my neighbours from a few houses up in her pyjamas. She's forgotten to put her bins out and they've already picked up the green waste (that's what woke her up, LOL), so she's putting her bin on the other side of the road. The truck goes to the top of the street and then comes back the other side. I suggested she put it in front of the house directly across from me as he hasn't put his out and they won't pick up two of the same bins from the same house unless you have paid extra money to the council!!!
I spent yesterday morning at church and then met our two daughters, one DIL and our future DIL in town. The girls are organising a Hen's night and a few other things as Emma goes back to Vietnam in May and they need to sort some things out before she goes. It will be nice for her to have a Hen's night here so she can celebrate her upcoming wedding with some of the friends she has made here during her time as a student.
Hubby went to Clare, which is several hours drive out into the country, to a swap meet, car parts, motorbike parts, magazines and bits and pieces. He went to sell things, but I'm sure he probably bought a couple of extra things back with him.
The two youngest grandchildren have arrived so I had better hurry up and finish this so I can see what they are up to. (just checked on them, one is watching the tv and playing with toys and the other one is colouring in, so all good - quiet too!!!)

MIM#132 has started and we are all looking forward to another week of wonderful creations to inspire us.
Congratulation this week go to Joey as our featured artist and also to Evelyn as the prize winning commenter.
This week we are being sponsored by the ever fabulous, Bugaboo and I chose this fab saying and image called Block Sentiments - Cinderella.
Here is what I finally decided to do to showcase this fab image.

It's not a fabulous picture as it's been overcast and windy outside the last few days and with that bow on there I wouldn't have been able to do a good scan either. Still thinking what to do with the inside, I am thinking of putting a small piece of white at the toe end of the shoe, just like the inside of our shoes and then leaving it plain.

Recipe:
Pink cardstock from stash for the shoe
SU Early Espresso cardstock for the bottom of the shoe and heel
DP from Grace Taylor - Vintage scrapbooking pad 12x12
Bling from stash
Image is Block Sentiment - Cinderella from Bugaboo

Quick Christmas card using chipboard diecuts

Halfway through the weekend already - a busy day today, overslept and the poor dogs were still in their beds in the laundry dying to be let out!!! Our youngest son and fiance caught me still in my pj's and wanted me  to go out with Emma to try a cheescake that they may like at their engagement party. Of course being diabetic I shouldn't be eating it at all, but to please them I had some. It was so sweet, there would be no way I could eat it and I suppose since I've cut down on all that sort of thing, it does seem even more sweet to me. He wanted to know whether I could make it, I think all I would need would be to find a recipe. It was an apricot baked cheescake with an almond topping and maybe icing sugar on top. It looked a bit like crumble on a baked apple pie!!!
The craft group that I usually go to on Saturdays met for the first time since before Christmas as people have just had things on and it hasn't been able to get going until now. I got home to find hubby off to the airport to pick up a couple of our friends who stayed with us just over a week ago and left their car here and a few belongings. They shouted us pizza for tea before they headed off to the mallee region back to their farm. A bit of tv watching and then started thinking about making a card, I've missed a few nights this week due to different things going on so tonight I decided to make a quick Christmas card using a packet of diecuts that I picked up about 5 years ago in one of the discount shops.
Here it is.....

Recipe:
SU Garden Green cardstock for the top fold cardbase
DP from
Nestie die - Classic Circles small
Image and square word are diecuts from the discount variety store (at least 5 years old)
Sentiment from SU More Merry Messages
SU Handsome Hunter inkpad
Foam dots
DS tape roller

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having an enjoyable weekend.

Sandy

Thinking of you with CTMH

Another full day, left here early this morning with my youngest daughter and my future DIL to go look at some dresses to wear to her wedding. I bought a lovely beaded one and of course (and luckily) it's in my favourite colour purple!!! My daughter thought it looked to old for me when it was hanging in the shop but changed her mind when I tried it on. It's been horrible weather here today, very hot and muggy and not ideal for putting clothes on and off half a dozen times trying different outfits. I also bought a bargain dress, not quite as dressy but will still be worn in Vietnam for the meeting of Emma's parents - it was marked down from $100 to only $15!!! Love it.
I was about an hour late for craft this afternoon and so didn't get much done. Tea out with friends and then home here to watch tv and try and stay cool.
I have done another case of a card which I saw in an old magazine, slight variation to the layout and used different dies etc.
Here it is.....

Front of card... I tried scanning but because things are popped out on the front it was all fuzzy so I've tried taking a photo. It's turned out marginally better but it's not blurry!

Inside of card - this one's scanned
