Challenge 99 A Valentine with QKR Stampede

Time for another challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog and this week the theme is Valentine - so use a valentine sentiment of some sort.
It's still pretty hot here and we are back in for another 40 plus heat wave. I've been knitting a baby shawl so can only do it in the family room where the air conditioner is on. I normally wouldn't touch any knitting during summer, but our eldest daughter's baby is due end of March and I want to have it finished. It's done on circular needles and I've had to pull it apart several times to get the pattern right. One tiny mistake throws the whole thing out of whack!!!
Anyway, on to my creation this week......

Recipe:
SU Real Red cardstock
White card from stash
Image is In Love by QKR Stampede
Sentiment is from a set of stamps I bought on e-bay a long time ago and have no packaging
Dies - lattice background by Cheery Lyn
        - Nestie - Hearts
        - small hearts came from scrap waste from another Cheery Lyn die
Copic Markers
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots
Bling from stash
Memento Black inkpad

Challenge #56 featuring Kenny K and Flatfriendsboutique images

Hi everyone, it's a special day here today so to any Aussies reading my blog, Happy Australia Day. Enjoy the public holiday tomorrow. We also have the tour down under bike race here in Adelaide, the last day is today and they have blocked many of the roads off in the city. It made it a bit more difficult to get to church today as the road the church is on is part of the bike circuit so we had to do some thinking and travel a few side streets and on the way home we had to go a very long way around to get back home. The minister had to contend with someone outside talking on a sound system and also some music blaring away. I've missed a few weeks, so it was good to be back listening to the sermon and singing the songs.
Well, I had better get on and share my creations for 613 Avenue Create this week. We have three sponsors this week and I was lucky to be able to use an image from two of them, Kenny K and Flatfriendsboutique.
It's anything goes with an optional theme at 613 Avenue Create and the theme is - GIFT SET ~ there are lots of combos you could make.

MIM#175 A Jar of Flowers with Bugaboo

Wow, we've survived the horrible heat wave of last week and the destructive thunderstorm. We have had lots of bushfires in the state with loss of homes and livestock. There are still fires burning here and in two other states. No deaths here in South Australia but interstate there was one death that I know of.  I would like to say a big thankyou to all those that have been out on the front lines of the fires for their continuing work to keep people and property safe and to those who have lost homes and livelihoods I pray that you will get the help you need to get back on your feet.
It's been about 10 degrees cooler over the last two days, still fairly hot but much more manageable.
Now.....onto a new Linky Party at Make It Monday. We had so many wonderful entries last week it was really hard to choose my POTW. Scroll down to check if I picked your project to feature today.
Congratulations to Nancy as the featured artist and to Wendy as the winning commenter. Enjoy!!!

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps: A Short Essay
As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of papercrafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing!  From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects.  Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

If your taste runs to rubber (and you know who you are), you can find Bugaboo Stamps   atTotally Stampalicious. And finally, join the Bugaboo Stamps DT   for weekly challenges at Catch the Bug

Bugaboo Stamps are offering a very generous prize of winner's choice of 7 single digis!

It's time for POTW......... my first choice is this gorgeous card from Morgan of Morganised Chaos. Just love this image and the colouring is wonderful. You can find it here on Morgan's blog

 A Little Bird Told Me

For my second choice, I chose this delightful card  from Monica of Simply Monica. Love the beautiful image of the birds in the tree - fabulous colouring!  and those flowers are a wonderful finishing touch. You can find it here on her blog

Time for me to go, we would love to see you entering a papercraft project at Make It Monday this week. Pop in and check out the DT's blogs to see their inspirational cards and to see if you were a POTW choice.
Also, just to remind you, to be in the running to win the fab prize from Bugaboo this week, all you need to do is pop into some of the other entrant's blogs and leave a comment mentioning you saw them on MIM. The more times you do this, the better your chances of being picked.

Challenge 98 - My first DT project for Aud Sentiments

A new day and finally I can share the news that I have a position on the DT at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog. We are having a heat wave here in Adelaide and we are all sweltering away. A bit different to some of the places in the world where they are coping with extreme cold. I hope whatever the weather you are experiencing you are coping okay!!! I had the 3 grandchildren here yesterdat and they  stayed overnight, so was a bit snug in the bed in this heat. We only have the fan to alleviate the heat.We ended up sleeping with our heads at the base of the bed to get as much cool air as possible. We've woken up to another scorcher, so the air con is already on.
Well enough talk about hot weather and on to the challenge at Aud Sentiments. This week you can use any sentiment you would like. Easy, right!!!
Our sponsor is Inky Impressions and I got to use this sweet image so therefore I made a Christmas card. The first one for 2014!!!

It's an outdoor wedding , maybe there will be some shady trees to shelter under!!! It's about a 3/4 hour drive away so will have the air con on in the car.
I ended up with two cards as I had a DT project coming up in a fortnight but have decided to go with this one instead, so that means I can share it with you today.

MIM#173 - A New Year and a New Sponsor

Hi Everyone, welcome back to Make It Monday and to start the year off, we have a New Sponsor for our first Linky Party of 2014. I hope you have all recovered from your celebrations and are ready for a wonderful year of crafting.
We also have a new teamie, so welcome  Rachael to the Design Team
My hubby had his birthday at the end of December and our daughter came back early(Friday) from a trip to the outback with her boyfriend so we had a barbeque to celebrate both events yesterday. Well it rained quite a bit but stopped in time to sit outside and eat. All five of our kids were there and with all the husbands and wives (except for one, who is still in Vietnam) and the 3 grandchildren, there were fourteen of us and four dogs (our other two grandpuppies stayed home) We all had a good time. The guys went off to a couple of secondhand shops after lunch and my youngest daughter and I ducked out to the craft shop to get 3 of my Copic Markers filled. I had to borrow one from a friend on Friday so I could finish off an image for a DT project. I drove to the craft shop only to discover they had just closed. One of the staff opened the door and I think if I just wanted to buy something she would have let me in, but she didn't know how to fill the marker. (It was only one at that stage!) and the owners are Seventh Day Adventists so they don't open on Saturday and I had to wait until Sunday.
Now onto the Linky Party!!!
Congratulations to Rita as our featured artist from last week and to Loz as the winning commenter. As usual we would love to see your paper creations, anything goes, as long as it is a papercraft and it doesn't have to be a new post either. Please make sure you include a link back to Make It Monday as well in your post and if you are new to Make It Monday, all you have to do to be in the running for the fab prize is to stop by some of the other entries and leave a comment and include that you saw them at MIM. Easy!!! and you get to check out some fabulous blogs too and get inspired!
Well as promised, we have a New Sponsor and it is the delightful Time For Tea Designs. Make sure you go and check out the store! I chose Happy Birthday Digital to play with for my card.
Here it is.....

I'm sharing two pics - the first here is a scan which shows the image for what it looks like in real life better than in the photo!!

This is the photo, which show the card and Designer Paper off better than the scan!!! Frustrating isn't it. It was so windy I just haven't been able to take a photo outside and the light wasn't very good inside when I took this one.  But you get the idea, maybe if you hold your head on an angle and squint the images might combine and show one card, LOL!!!!

 Recipe:
SU Baked Brown Sugar cardstock for the cardbase and mattes
SU Pistachio Pudding cardstock
White cardstock from stash
Image is Happy Birthday Digital from Time for Tea Designs
Sentiment is from SU Bring on the Cake - set 2 of 2
DP is from Kaisercraft 6x6 Paper Pad - Lilac Avenue Collection

A Christmas card box

Hi just popping on tonight to share one of the christmas card boxes that I made for some of my friends at Christmas time. I meant to put it on before Christmas, but have only just remembered!!!
I saw this on someone's blog (the one I saw had more embellishment, but I tend to like CAS so that is how mine turned out) and found out how to make it and voila! I think I made about 8 of them.
Here is the only one I've got a picture of, but I did most of them with this gorgeous nativity image and another couple with a snowman image.
This card design could be used for any occasion and you can dress it up as much as you like. Wouldn't it make a wonderful wedding card, anniversary or baby's birth card. The possibilities are endless!

Recipe:
SU Garden Green cardstock
DP from stash
White cardstock
Scraps of various SU green cardstock
Tree Die from Marianne Creatables
Image is from Precious Moments
I've put the sentiment stamp away, so until I sort the craft room out, I'm not sure where it is!!!

Well, we are going off early tomorrow morning to catch up with friends and go to an Auction and we have to travel about 1 1/2 hours distance, so I'm going to say goodbye for now.
Thanks for stopping by,
Take Care,
Hugs,
Sandy

Birthday card for my Aunt's 70th.

Hi everyone, I thought I would share the card that I gave my Aunty last Saturday for her 70th birthday. I decided not to add the number 70 to the front and to keep it pretty simple using a gorgeous felted design paper.
Here it is......

Recipe:
SU Black cardstock
Lilac cardstock from stash
DP is from Kaisercraft
Sentiment is from SU
Punch - oval
Nestie Die - Deckled ovals
Bling from stash

Finally managed to get some more white cardstock from Office Works. I had to go to a different branch as the local one didn't have any. One of the assistants there spent about 10 minutes trying to find me some as it was still showing on their computer that they had stock! Even the one I went to today had to go and get it from the store room as it had only just come in!
I bought two packets so it will last me a while, lol.
It's just after midnight here and as I stayed up late last night (after 2 a.m.) I think I had better hit the sack!!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Take Care,
Hugs,
Sandy
